JOSH TAYLOR TAKES DISNEY LAND & TOP AGENTS BY STORM

Monday, November 24th, 2008

JOSH TAYLOR: has taken the entertainment industry by storm… 1 of 500 participants Josh was selected to take part in the first ever European Talent Event, Growing Talent 2008 which incorporated the worldwide-acclaimed International Talent Showcase (ITS) held this year in Disney Land, Paris. Josh spent the week showcasing and auditioning in front of the some of the world’s biggest agents, managers, casting directors and industry professionals in the music, dancing, modelling and acting industry.

We have just today been notified that Josh was selected as a finalist in three categories; best Junior Actor, best Junior Monologue and best Stand-Up (open age group). This gave Josh the opportunity to showcase his talent during a Grand Final before being voted overall winner for best STAND UP at the Grand Banquet on the final night of what was an incredibly busy week singing, dancing, acting and modelling.

With over 10 casting directors, managers, agents and industry professionals requesting call backs during the event we are sure that Josh is destined for the “BIG TIME”…

We are very proud to say that Josh has trained with us at Melody Pop Tuition and Melissa his vocal coach and dance tutor is over the moon.

Well done Josh!

Growing Talent Europe in association with ITS and Stirling Academy (Mother Agent and Scout for Greater Manchester Region) were so impressed with the standard of talent at Melody Pop that they have decided to come back again in 2009.

The auditions are open to anyone and you do not have to be a student here, they are going to be held sometime in February, so please keep popping back for further details.

If you think you have the talent and feel you can excel in dance, singing, acting or modelling come along and audition. Assuming you are successful this Talent Event could be the opportunity for you to get noticed by agents, managers, casting directors and industry professionals in the music, dancing, modelling and acting industry.

For Josh this has been a fantastic experience that could lead to great opportunities in the future.

Melody Pop – Winners All The Way!

dothelambrini.co.uk web site featuing the Melody Pop Dancers!!

so you remember Melody pop was entered into the “Do the Lambrini” competition? (see post HERE)
well they didn’t win… but actually got something BETTER than winning – a glowing report on www.lambrini.co.uk! (if you visit, head to the Kirsty Doyle page)

The final decision, made by ’Project Catwalk’ winner Kirsty Doyle*, basically says that even though they were not the winners, the Melody Pop dancers were the favourites and if they need a dance troup to perform the lambrini then they’ll be in touch!!!
(*Original Judge Cilla Black was changed)

Melissa says it’s BETTER THAN WINNING the night out in London, as it proves that the Melody Pop dancers and routines are the best out there! (The lucky winners captured the ‘lambrini girls just wanna have fun’ ethos by having a pajama party and having a laugh! – well done to them, we wish we were there when they’d recorded it!)

The Melody Pop Dancers have also been selected to be PIT GIRLS for a particular car racing team (more info after deal is finalised) – what are pit girls? Think cheerleaders for racing car teams, and also think dance routines on SKY SPORTS!!

So along with those two reasons and also this sunday’s session with KYLIE’S CHOREOGRAPHER (Tim Noble) coming up, we’re more proud than ever to be Melody Pop – WINNERS ALL THE WAY!!

Good Luck!

Will Cilla Black Back Bolton Dancers?

Bolton, Lancashire, 18th April 2008 —
Melody Pop Dancers Selected As Finalists For Dance Contest Judged By Cilla Black This Month In London

When Melissa Finbarr-Smith’s husband, Tony recorded her Jazz dance class performing the Lambrini dance, they never expected to be finalists in a competition judged by North-Western Legend Cilla Black!

The short video, recorded at Melody Pop Tuition on St George’s Road, Bolton, shows some of the Melody Pop Dancers as they ‘Do The Lambrini’; the energetic dance featured in the television adverts of the alcoholic drink. “Mel’s classes are all very fun, and we uploaded it for a laugh, to be honest” Tony explains, “and we never expected something like this to happen – we didn’t even know there was a competition!” “The first thing I heard about being in the final was an e-mail from Lambrini” he enthuses “the e-mail explained that Melissa and three friends were in the running for an all-expenses paid trip to London, including a professional Make-up session, New Clothes, a meal in a posh London restaurant and £500 spending money! I think Mel is most looking forward to the dance session with the choreographer and dancers from the advert, and of course, the overnight stay in a posh hotel!.”

A DVD of the dance has been sent to Celebrity Judge Cilla Black, who will be studying the finalists’ moves and will make a decision before the end of April.

The winners of the competition will record a new dance video in the Lambrini Film Studio, which will be featured on the Lambrini web site.

Melody Pop’s entry video is currently featured on www.DoTheLambrini.co.uk web site, and is the highest-rated video of all the worldwide uploads to the site.

X-Factor Survival Tips and TRicks

So… you’re going to one of the x factor auditions in the UK?

Firstly, WELL DONE! it takes a lot of nerve to follow your dreams!

I’m sure you’re wondering what the judges are looking for; how do you get through to the next round? How do you win the x-factor? Are there any x factor auditions secrets?

I received an e-mail from someone who knew I got through the first round last year, and wanted some advice about times, etc.

Here’s my reply:

”Last Year I was queueing there a couple hours at least, so get there half hour early or you’ll be at the end of your timeslot.

too early (before your time slot) and they make u go to the back of the queue.

BUT that was for the pre-booked timeslot auditions.

IF it’s the open auditions (i went year before), then i went after my gig (about 3am), with sleeping bag.
it was about 18 hours total that i was there.

in either case, take umbrella, layers (you’ll go from freezing to roasting), something to wet your whistle (seriously, drinks are pricey and tiny when available but they weren’t easy to get), and ipod with hypnosis track or something that gives total blockout or distraction (the hours seem like DAYS in there).
If you go in the middle of the night, get some sleep. whatever happens, don’t sing tired.

warming up (vocally) is essential cos you’ll go a bit dry from nerves.

If they get you all shouting ‘Ive got the X-factor’ don’t join in.
they do it for about 45 mins to an hour, and you’ll lose your voice. don’t do it even once. i’m sure you knew that already, though ;)

best of all, have fun and network with people!
Good Luck!”
