• Is this their full-time job or do they treat this like a part-time hobby?

All these questions and more may come up, and when you’re planning your wedding, these sorts of cocerns around your wedding singer are the last thing you want to add to the stress!

Here are some tips for choosing a manchester wedding singer:

1. See if they’re performing anywhere local where you can see them in person. Many wedding singers also perform at other venues such as social clubs and theatres when they’re not at weddings, so there should be plenty of opportunity to see them. In America it’s common to hold auditions so you can see them live.
2. Check they have public liability insurance and all their gear is PAT tested. PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) means their gear is electrically safe, and most venues insist on performers and DJs having this. This is common sense as safe electrical gear reduces risk of accident or fire. Public liability basically means that if the performer drops a speaker on someone or someon trips over an uncovered wire then their insurance can cover any related costs. Again most venues should insist on this and on seing the proof.
   This is for the safety of your guests so don’t overlook it.
3. Another top tip is to see if the manchester wedding singer has any testimonials praising their work.
   This way someone that has already experienced the wedding singer’s services can tell you how it went.

I’m also making some changes to the act, since there are at least two other acts whose sets are starting to look a little too similar to mine… I’ll be keeping the popera stuff and some of the others but including some other tracks that should raise some eyebrows (in a good way of course haha).

So why is the world cup a menace? Because last night I was supposed to be at the Ex Civil Defense Club in the Wirrall (CH62 5BB), but because of the bloody world cup I couldn’t get a lift for love nor money! I was acutally offering cash in hand for taking me but to no avail… so in the end I had to ring the agent and cncel, which really annoys me since I HATE letting anyone down.

While on the topic of driving, I am nearly ready to take my test so will probably be booking that today even. I’ve been learning with Shell’s Driving School, who are ace, so if you’re looking for a driving school in bolton, check them out they’re the best!

Preston North End Football Club

Finbarr Smith appeared at Preston North End Football Club in November and was selected as the winner of his heat.

Firstly, the staff were really nice when I got there, which was brill. They helped me up the steep stairs with the gear and everything which is really rare these days – thanks Les!

There’s a new concert sec there called Barry who does a great job.

I didn’t know there was a no-dancing during the first half rule, and there was a (loud) 40somethingth birthday group in who wanted to get up at every song.
The committee kept asking them to sit down, which left me trying to pick songs nobody would dance to…
…but they even got up to dance to my Italian version of Angels!

Anyway, they left during the bingo before the dance spot.

Of course these kinds of rules were there once for a reason, and I’m sure they’ve reviewed them all recently (?) but this one is outdated in my opinion.

People who dance buy more beer. fact. cos they’re hot. people sat listening quietly can make a pint last an hour. it all boils down to beer sales, so I’llnever undertstand this one. besides, if they’re being told off, the ‘younger(?)’ generations won’t come in. daft I call it.

Anywho, it was a nice club with lovely people and a very friendly birthday girl (hello tracy).

I was greeted by King Arthur and Guinevere, and it all carried on from there – they were having a special

medieval nightin celebration of St. George’s Day. I wish I’d gotten a couple of pics – they all looked brilliant in fancy dress, and they cooked a banquet!

As well as my two spots, there was a close-up magician working the tables during the banquet, and Duane Harker-Young got up for three songs at the beginning of the 2nd spot.

The club is run and owned by the members, who all moor their canal boats there, and when they get up dancing they don’t stop!

If you’re visiting, expect a great ngiht and the cheapest bar prices in the Northwest!

considering it was a tuesday night, the room was almost full, with a very nice attentive audience…

…they all enjoyed the material I performed, which was mostly Swing and Musicals type stuff (they weren’t up for dancing).
